RANCH STYLE BEANS | |
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1 pkg. onion soup mix 2 (1 lb.) cans pork & beans 1 (1 lb.) can kidney beans, drained 1 c. ketchup 1/2 c. water 1/4 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. prepared mustard 2 tsp. vinegar 2 or 3 cloves garlic 1/2 c. grated Romano cheese 1/2 lemon, squeezed 1/4 c. olive oil 1 anchovy (opt.) 1 egg yolk 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Croutons Mince garlic in bottom of bowl. Mash in 1 anchovy. Add yolk and mix with cheese to make paste. May need to add a little oil to make paste. Add pepper if desired, then Worcestershire sauce and 1/4 cup oil. Brown beef. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into 2 1/2 quart casserole. Bake, uncovered in 400 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve immediately after tossing; add croutons. |
