CABBAGE AND GREEN PEPPER ROLLS | |
Core a large cabbage and put into boiling water for at least 15 minutes. Let soak in water until meat is ready. 2 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. uncooked rice Salt & pepper to taste 2 eggs 1 med. onion Mix all the above. Clean 4 green peppers by coring and cutting off the top. Pull apart the cabbage leaves. Fill each pepper and completely warp a scoop of meat mixture with cabbage leaves until all meat is used up. Layer a large baking pan with sauerkraut (1 to 2 large jars according to your liking). Place the cabbage and green stuffed peppers on top, sprinkle the juice from 4 lemons over all (bottled juice works well also) and top with sprinkles of brown sugar and 2 large cans of whole tomatoes with juice. Bake in oven for at least 2 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Sure to please!!!!!!! |
