GRACE SHATNEY'S CUCUMBER RELISH 
7 lg. cucumbers
5 lg. onions
3 c. vinegar
3 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 c. water

Place cucumbers and onions in colander, sprinkle with a handful of salt; drain 2 hours. Heat vinegar, add remaining ingredients, including cucumbers and onions. Boil slowly 10 minutes, stirring continuously. Store in clean covered jars in a cool place. Keeps up to 2 years.
