BAKED PEAS 
8 strips bacon, chopped
2 tbsp. onion, chopped
2 c. fresh mushrooms, canned okay
2 tbsp. flour
2 c. Half & Half
2 cans peas, drained
Salt & pepper
Buttered cracker crumbs, for top
Water chestnuts, if desired

Fry bacon until crisp. Add onion until cooked. Drain on paper toweling. Melt 2 tablespoons butter, saute mushrooms; blend in flour, add Half & Half; stir until smooth; add rest of ingredients. cover with crumbs. Bake 1 hour in 350 degree oven.
