COCONUT DREAM BARS 
1 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 1/4 c. uncooked brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter, soft
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. pecan pieces
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract

Combine flour (except for 2 tablespoons) with 1/4 cup of brown sugar and the salt, cut in butter until mix is coarse meal. Pat firmly into ungreased 9-inch square pan, bake at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes.

Gradually add remaining sugar to beaten eggs. Combine rest of flour with baking powder, stir into egg mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread over warm baked crust. Return to oven for 20 minutes. Cut in bars while still warm, cool.
