CRANBERRY CAKE WITH SAUCE 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. Crisco
2/3 c. milk
1 egg
2 c. cranberries

Sift flour 3 or 4 times. Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening, milk and eggs. Beat 2 minutes. Fold in cranberries. Bake in 9" pan 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. half & half cream

Melt butter in double boiler. Mix sugar, half and half. Cook over hot water 5 minutes. Serve warm over individual pieces of cake.
