KAHN & C.'S GUMBO 
4 lbs. lg. shrimp
1-2 dozen live crabs
1-2 lbs. fresh oysters
2 pkgs. fresh scallops
1-2 pkgs. hot dogs
2-3 lbs. smoke sausage
1 pkg. Italian sausage
1 pkg. chicken parts
1 pkg. celery
4 med. onions
2 bunches green onions
2 green or yellow bell pepper
1 lg. bag okra
1 whole garlic
3-6 tbsp. Tabasco (opt.)
1 box crab boil
1 tbsp. salt
Black pepper & other spices
2 cans tomato paste
1 lg. can tomatoes
3-4 c. rice
2 tsp. gumbo file

Place live crabs in hot water. Remove back shell and other particles under shell. Place crabs in 5 gallon pot. Fill over half full (leaving space for other ingredients). Reduce heat after 10 minutes. Chop vegetables and saute in large saucepan in 1/2 cup vegetable oil until tender. Sprinkle small amount of flour in oil and vegetables. Add vegetables to pot after saute. Put chicken, sliced sausage, sliced hot dogs crab boil, whole garlic and spices into pot with crabs. Cook slowly for 1 hour. Stir often. Add shrimp, oysters, scallops, okra, tomato paste and tomato sauce. Continue to cook slow for another 1 to 2 hours. Cook rice in large boiler. Season rice with Molly imitation butter, Mrs. Dash, garlic powder and a dash of onion salt.
