3 egg whites 3/4 tsp. vanilla 1/8 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. chocolate chips Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Whip egg whites until foamy. Add vanilla and salt. Beat until stiff, adding sugar gradually. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoons, one-inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and let meringues sit in the oven for 6 hours without opening the door. They need to dry out to be crisp. |
