AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD | |
Do not use metal bowl or spoon. Do not refrigerate. STARTER: 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar Combine in air tight container. DAY 1: Do not do anything with your starter. Let it sit. DAY 2: Stir with wooden spoon. DAY 3: Stir with wooden spoon. DAY 4: Stir with wooden spoon. DAY 5: Transfer to a large bowl. To it add: 1 c. flour 1 c. milk DAY 6: Stir with a wooden spoon. DAY 7: Stir with a wooden spoon. DAY 8: Stir with a wooden spoon. DAY 9: Stir with a wooden spoon. DAY 10: Add: 1 c. flour 1 c. milk Pour 1 cup of mixture into each of 3 containers. Give to 3 friends (with instructions). To remaining mixture add: 2/3 c. oil 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. sugar 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda Mix all together with wire whisk or wooden spoon. Pour into 2 well greased loaf pans. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. NOTE: Before baking bread, it can be mixed with apples, raisins, bananas or nuts. |
