UNCLE CLYDE'S HARD CANDY 
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. oil flavoring
Food coloring

Combine first 3 items in heavy pan. Cook until candy thermometer hits 300 degrees. Remove from heat and add flavoring. Add enough food coloring to make it a little darker than you want. (It will end up lighter). Spray a cookie sheet with Pam and pour hot mixture on it to cool. When cool, lightly coat with powdered sugar. Crack it with a knife handle.
