CINNAMON APPLE CAKE WITH
BUTTERMILK SAUCE
 
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. chopped Granny Smith apples
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins

SAUCE:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cake: Mix oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Mixture will be a heavy dough. Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees in greased and floured tube pan. When done leave in pan and pour Buttermilk Sauce over cake. Let cool completely in pan.

Sauce: Mix all ingredients and boil for 2 minutes. Pour over cake while still in pan.
