1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. apple sauce
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. apple pie spice
1 c. nuts, chopped

Mix together well and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
