PECAN CRISPIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. broken pecans

Cream shortening and butter. Add sugar; cream until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add slowly to creamed mixture and cream together. Stir in oatmeal and pecans. Drop by tablespoons on cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. 5 dozen.
