2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
1 egg white, stiffly beaten

Mix together in saucepan, sugar, syrup and water. Stir until it boils and cook until soft ball stage or mixture forms soft ball in ice water. Beat egg white stiff, add to mixture, add 1 cup walnuts or pecans, if desired. Mix until creamy. Spoon on wax paper.
