DIVINITY CANDY 
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Karo syrup
2 egg whites
2/3 c. water
1 1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt

Cook sugar, syrup, salt and water to soft ball stage. Take out 1/2 cup of mixture and set aside. Cook the remaining mixture to hard ball stage. Pour 1/2 cup of mixture over beaten egg whites. Beat constantly. Continue beating and add rest of mixture, add nuts and vanilla. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper.
