We love it too. However, I have a hard time getting the butter to cover and I did cut it like it said. Any suggestions?

Try freezing the butter and grating.

Dump cakes are a go to since they're easy! You can use any combinations of fruit and cake. In winter it's spice cake with canned apples or cranberry and apples (Lucky Leaf) and caramel sauce or ice cream. A fave is dark chocolate cake with cherries and cherry sauce drizzle or ice cream. Pick a cake mix and a canned or frozen fruit. Triple berries for a yummy base with several flavor cakes, Always play with your food :)

Dump cake calls for 20 oz can crushed pineapple in syrup.. Can I use in juice instead?

Hi Arlene,

It wouldn't be as sweet. You might need to add some sugar to make it edible so there wouldn't be much point! But let us know how it turns out.

Easy and grandchildren raved about it. I used pineapple in juice and it turned out great. Gone in one day!

Arlene, I make a pineapple upside down cake with a yellow cake mix and pineapple in it's own juice, 1 stick butter and 1 cup brown sugar (or 1/2 cup Splenda brown sugar). Turns out just fine and doesn't need more sweetening.

We always use pineapple in its own juice. It cuts the super sweetness of the cherry pie filling. It's delicious!

Try using a german chocolate mix in place of the yellow one. Best chocolate cherry cake I have had.
