LUSCIOUS APRICOT BARS 
2/3 c. dried apricots
1/2 c. soft butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. sifted flour
1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Confectioner's sugar

Rinse apricots. Cover with water and boil 10 minutes. Drain, cool and chop. Mix until crumbly the butter, granulated sugar and one cup flour. Pack in greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.

Sift together 1/3 cup flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs. Add flour mixture. Mix well. Add vanilla, nuts and apricots. Spread over baked layer. Bake 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Cut into bars; roll in confectioner's sugar. Yield: 32.
