1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Chocolate chips, if desired
1 c. chopped nuts, if desired

Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add sour cream and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients. Add nuts and chips. Mix thoroughly. Chill 2 hours. Drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes in 375 degree oven.
