BEST GINGERSNAPS 
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light molasses
2 beaten eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger

Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Mix well. Form into balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
