CHICKEN CHOW MEIN | |
1 1/2 tbsp. oil 4 chicken breasts, skinned boned, cut up 1 level tsp. salt 2 tsp. soya sauce 2/3 c. water 2 c. fresh Chinese vegetables 1 tsp. cornstarch 1 chicken bouillon Heat oil in pan until very hot. Add chicken and salt. Saute for 2 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon soya sauce and vegetables, stir and cook for 3 minutes. Add 1/3 cup water. Cover, cook for 3 minutes. Now make gravy by mixing 1 teaspoon cornstarch and 1 teaspoon of soya sauce to remainder of water. Add to chow mein and stir until gravy reaches desired consistency. Makes 3 to 4 servings. Entire recipe should be cooked over high flame. Variations: Pork, beef, shrimp, mushrooms, etc. |
