1 c. sugar 1 c. butter, softened 1 egg, separated 2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tbsp. water 1/2 c. very finely chopped walnuts Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1- inch. Mix sugar, butter, and egg yolk. Mix in flour and cinnamon. Press in pan. Beat egg white and water until foamy; brush over dough. Sprinkle with walnuts. Bake until very light brown, 20-25 minutes. Immediately cut into strips, about 3 x 1-inch. Yield 50 cookies. |
