COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
3/4 lb. butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour alternately with milk. Add baking powder and vanilla last. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Put in a COLD OVEN and set for 325°F.

Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes. Check cake for doneness. Do not open oven until baking time if up!
