OVERNIGHT FRENCH TOAST DELUXE | |
8 (3/4 inch thick) slices French bread 4 eggs 1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter, divided 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. orange juice 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract Powdered sugar Place bread in 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Combine eggs, milk, sugar, salt, orange juice and vanilla; beat well. Pour mixture over bread; turn slices to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in large skillet; remove 4 slices from dish and saute' in butter 4 minutes each side, until browned. Repeat procedure with remaining butter and bread slices. Sprinkle toast with powdered sugar; serve immediately. 4 servings. |
