1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
18 large marshmallows cut in half

Sift flour, salt, soda, and cocoa together. Cream shortening and sugar, add egg, vanilla, and milk; beating well. Add dry ingredients and mix. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven, press 1/2 marshmallow, cut side down, on top of each cookie. Bake 2 minutes longer. Cool. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting. Makes 36 cookies.
