ELSIE'S CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW
COOKIES
 
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
18 marshmallows, cut in half

Sift dry ingredients together. Add beaten egg and milk to mixture. Bake 8 minutes in 350 degree oven. Top with cut side of marshmallow down, return to oven for 1 minute. Top with frosting.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1/4 lb. butter
1 lb. powdered sugar
1/3 c. cream or canned milk
Cocoa to suit

Beat well and apply to cookie. Spread over marshmallow top.
