GREEN TOMATO ICICLE PICKLES 
Mix 1 1/2 cup lime or little less in 2 gallons cold water. Fill container with sliced green tomatoes (don't cut too thin). Let stand for 24 hours. Rinse well.

To every 4 pounds tomatoes use 4 pounds sugar, 1 1/2 pints vinegar. Use spice to taste. I use mustard seed and celery seed, about 2 tablespoons each and 2 teaspoons turmeric.

Simmer in liquid mixture, do not boil, for 35 minutes. Pack in sterile jars and seal.
