SWISS GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE | |
2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. sour cream 1 onion, chopped 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded 2 (#1) cans Del Monte green beans, drained Saute onions in butter. Add flour, salt, pepper and sugar. Keep on low heat, stirring constantly. Bring to low boil, bubbly. Place green beans and shredded Swiss cheese (or very thin strips) in bowl. Add mixture from stove with beans and cheese. Put in a buttered casserole. Sprinkle crushed corn flakes and drizzle 2 tablespoons melted butter on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Crushed potato chips can be used instead of corn flakes. |
