SAUSAGE CASSEROLE | |
This is a double batch. 2 lbs. crumbled pork sausage (mild) 1 c. celery, chopped 1 c. green pepper, chopped 1/2 c. onion, chopped 4 1/2 c. water 2 env. chicken noodle soup mix (4 oz. box) 1 c. uncooked brown rice 1 can water chestnuts, cut up Brown sausage; pour off fat. Add celery, green pepper and onion; stir in the water and add all other ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes. Bake in a 9x13 pan or casserole covered with foil at 350 degrees about 1 1/2 hours. Last 10 minutes of baking, uncover and add 2 cans of fried onions. This can be made ahead or the night before. |
