1 pkg. (18.5 oz.) yellow cake mix
3 eggs (1/2 to 2/3 c.)
1/4 c. water
1 jar (15 oz.) applesauce (about 1 3/4 c.)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Blend all ingredients on low speed in large mixer bowl. Beat 4 minutes on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour batter into pan.

Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes. Cool slightly. If desired, serve with sweetened whipped cream or frost cake with Browned Butter Frosting.
