MOM'S CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS | |
1 stewing chicken 1 can cream of chicken soup 2 boxes frozen peas & onions (without sauce) 1 box Bisquick mix 3/4 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped celery 2 tbsp. flaked parsley Stew chicken with chopped onion, celery and parsley in pot with water. About 45 minutes before serving, drain some of the stewing water so gravy will not be too thin. Add undiluted soup and also frozen peas and onions. About 25 minutes before serving, follow Bisquick directions for dumplings and add to pot. (Children might like to mix these!) Serve when dumplings are cooked, through (about 20 minutes). This is a delicious one pot meal, but watch for little bones when serving children! |
