CREAMY DECORATIVE FROSTING 
1 c. shortening
2 tbsp. butter
1 pkg. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract

Beat shortening and butter until smooth. Add 2 cups of sugar, 1/4 cup at a time. Add cornstarch. Beat well. Add egg whites, salt, and flavorings. Beat in rest of sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form when beaters are raised. Makes 3 cups.
