FRENCH APPLE PIE 
6 green apples (sliced large)
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. water

Cook 10 minutes. Low heat.

6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter, add brown sugar and cream well. Mix dry ingredients together. Mix with butter and sugar. Mix with hands.

Put cooked apples in pie dish. Sprinkle sugar mixture over hot apples and pack around sides with hands. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes with cookie sheet under pie dish.
