MULLIGAN'S STEW | |
4 to 6 lbs. round steak (use plenty of meat) 1 to 2 lbs. carrots (cut up) 1 to 2 lbs. celery (cut sm.) 1 lb. turnips (cut into chunks) 1 lg. onion (peel and cook awhile) 4 to 6 c. potatoes (diced) 2 cans stewed tomatoes (whole) Use 4 gallon stew pot. Add 2 gallons of water to start. You may add more water later if you need it. Add all veggies except potatoes and cook for 30 minutes on medium heat. Add pre-cooked meat and potatoes and cook another 30 minutes. Add seasoning and simmer until ready to eat. SEASONING: 6 to 8 bay leaves 10 tbsp. lemon juice 10 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 10 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. pepper 6 tbsp. salt Boil until almost all done. Taste. You can add up to 4 more tablespoons of salt (one at a time, taste between each). |
