MAMA'S BEST CHOCOLATE PIE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cornstarch
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. Carnation milk
3 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly in a double boiler. Add 1 cup of milk and stir well. Add remaining milk. When mixture has heated, combine 1/4 cup hot mixture to 3 beaten egg yolks. Return the egg mixture back to the double boiler and stir. Cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly.

Add vanilla and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes in the double boiler. Turn into a cooked pie shell and top with meringue. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the meringue is golden.
