4 lg. sweet potatoes
2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg (or cinnamon)
1/2 stick butter

In heavy saucepan cook sweet potatoes until almost done. Add sugar, vanilla, butter and nutmeg (or cinnamon); cook until syrupy.
