CHERRY CHOCOLATE NUT COOKIES 
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries
3/4 cup chopped pecans

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto greased baking sheets.

Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden own. Remove to wire racks to cool.

Makes 5 dozen.
