NEVER FAIL DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. hot coffee
1/2 c. cocoa
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vinegar
2 level tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes. (Test with toothpick; don't bake dry).
