3 eggs
1 1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. shortening
4 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sour milk
3 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Mix all ingredients in order given in large bowl. DO NOT MIX until last ingredient is in.

Beat for several minutes until completely mixed. Pour into greased pans or paper lined cup cake tins.

Makes a lot. NOTE: sour milk can be made by adding 2 tablespoons vinegar to 1 cup milk. Let stand few minutes.
