TEA CAKES 
3/4 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in a little bit of hot water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. all-purpose flour

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add baking soda and water, salt, and vanilla. Then add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out and cut or roll out with hand.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes on greased pan. DO NOT OVERBAKE!

Note: Self-rising flour may be used if preferred.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
