CHOCOLOSSAL CHIP COOKIES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. Calumet baking powder or baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. (2 sticks) butter or other shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. (10 oz.) Baker's big chips - semi-sweet chocolate
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)

Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in sugars. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in chips and nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, placing cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
