ITALIAN PORK CHOPS WITH MUSHROOMS AND PEPPERS | |
6 pork chops, cut 1" thick 4 tbsp. olive oil 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 green peppers, thinly sliced 1 lb. mushrooms, thinly sliced 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 c. canned tomato sauce 2 tbsp. water Trim the fat from the chops. Heat the oil in a skillet, brown the chops on both sides. Season with the salt and pepper. Remove and keep warm. To the oil remaining in the skillet add the peppers and saute 10 minutes. Remove. Saute the mushroom and garlic 5 minutes. Mix in the tomato sauce and water. Return the peppers and chops. Cover the skillet and cook over low heat 30 minutes or until chops are tender. Turn chops once or twice. |
