BEEF MUSHROOM STEW 
2 1/2 lbs. stew beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
8 oz. whole mushrooms
4 stalks celery
4 med. carrots
4 med. potatoes
1 1/2 c. water

Cut beef into 1 inch cubes. Put beef and salt in 3 quart pot. Stir together gravy mix and water. Pour over meat and cook slowly for 40 minutes or until desired doneness. Add vegetables and cook until tender. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. 6 to 8 servings. Serve with cornbread or crackers.
