2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1/2 c. milk 2 tbsp. melted shortening Sift flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar. Beat egg with milk and add dry ingredients with shortening. Mix dough lightly and roll 1/2 inch thick on floured board. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Fry in hot deep shortening at 365 degrees until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Yield 12-15 doughnuts. |
