SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 pkg. split peas
3 qt. water
1 ham bone or smoke ham cubes
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 sticks celery, chopped
1 lg. carrots, chopped
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. sugar, if desired
Salt & pepper

Combine all ingredients in large pot. Cook over medium heat for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours until peas are done and soup becomes thick.
