CORN PONE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sour milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream sugar, eggs, and shortening until smooth. Add milk. Combine all dry ingredients, then slowly beat into the creamed ingredients. Grease and flour one 9 x 9 or 8 x 10 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Test if done by inserting toothpick in center.
