COCONUT CREAM PIE 
3 egg yolks
2/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
Salt and vanilla
3 c. milk
3/4 c. coconut

Mix all together and cook until thick. Put in baked pie shell.

MERINGUE FOR CREAM PIES:

1 tbsp. cornstarch
6 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. water
Salt

Cook until thick and clear (cool). Beat 3 egg whites until fluffy. Add above mixture and keep beating while pouring. Beat 5 minutes. Put on cream pie. Bake 450 degrees until golden brown, about 7 minutes.
