CHEX MIX PUPPY CHOW
9 cups Chex Mix 1 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat. Spread mixture evenly on wax paper and allow to cool.

I had some, uuummm, computation issues when I made this last year and wound up putting in a whole bag of chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of peanut butter. People at work said it was the best puppy chow they had ever eaten. :)

I made this once years ago from the recipe on the Chex box, and didn't like it that much. After reading the reviews here, I think I'll follow Libby's changes and the extra vanilla and see how I like it then. The recipe I used, called for some or all wheat Chex and although I like to eat them with milk I probably didn't like them in the mixture. Will use corn and maybe rice Chex instead. Thanks for the recipe and everyone's ideas!
