SAUERKRAUT CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 1/4 c. sifted flour 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 2/3 c. butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 lg. eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. water or strong coffee 2/3 c. sauerkraut, rinsed, drained, chopped Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl, blend with fork, measure butter, cream with electric mixer at medium speed, gradually add sugar and eggs one at a time. Add vanilla, liquid and dry ingredients alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in sauerkraut. Bake in greased and floured layer pans at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. |
