SAUERKRAUT CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. minus 2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. plus 4 tbsp. water
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
3 eggs
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
2/3 c. sauerkraut

Drain and rinse sauerkraut several times with water, drain again and chop sauerkraut coarsely. Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, salt, baking powder and cocoa. Add dry ingredients, alternating with water to egg mixture. Stir in sauerkraut with a fork. Bake in a greased pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
