PECAN TARTS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. almond extract
2 c. sifted flour

FILLING:

1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. Karo (dark) syrup
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
Pecan halves

Mix 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir in 2 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon almond extract and 2 cups sifted flour. Press evenly into tiny tart shells or muffin cups. Bake in 400 degree oven for 8 minutes. Bring to boil 1/2 cup butter, 1/3 cup Karo dark corn syrup and 1 cup confectioners' sugar. Stir in 1 cup chopped pecans. Spoon into shells. Top with pecan halves. Bake in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes. Do not over bake. Makes 4 dozen.
